Oh, I don't know. It'll probably be some sort of machine that's designed to kill, torture, maim, disfigure or otherwise permanently scar us or add in another reason why that Mayfield really is the best place to live. Or decide if we're not being festive enough and tell us to be festive or else.

I haven't been here for very long, but I'm certain it's not just for the Christmas trees. The fact that redirecting the power affects the drones this way worries me.

Yes, the tree is certainly meant as a diversion. It wouldn't take what's happening with the drones to do that, for one thing.

What bothers me the most is that the drones can be broken by a lack of power... but I guess me wondering "what else can be broken" is the same as what you're wondering...

But maybe it's something we can use to our advantage.

At the very least, it might tell us what the forces keeping us here consider most critical.

I've tried tracing power draws in the past. Unfortunately the equipment I use for that has conveniently vanished.

I myself have lost... things here. But I'm sure we can find ways to investigate without our things from home. Everyone in the world has had to start empty handed at some point.

No, this is all powered by the movement of electrons. I haven't seen a power plant, but given everything else in the town it's probably powered by nuclear reaction.

Then again, a rift like that could be part of some of the rest of the strangeness.

There's one in the living room. We should probably close off upstairs so we can focus on keeping that area warm.

(And off he goes. This is his chance to show off to Sarah Jane just how efficient he is at managing his household, and he is not going to blow it. In record time, he's got upstairs sealed off AND he's got a roaring fire going.)
