Investigaion 11

[Action: 2238 Stevens]

[Sarah Jane is going around the house unplugging most appliances and collecting blankets, warm clothing and towels]

Any thoughts on what they're really redirecting the power to? How is everyone holding up? Sexy, you're keeping an eye on him?

(And while Sarah Jane is unplugging all the electrical appliances, guess who's just come into the house with a wheel barrow full of wood?)

Signora! Perfect timing as always. Tell me, is there a fireplace in this house?

[Perfect timing indeed, figure out firewood was next on the list]

There's one in the living room. We should probably close off upstairs so we can focus on keeping that area warm.

Excellente. I'll close the windows and the door before I set up the fire.

(And off he goes. This is his chance to show off to Sarah Jane just how efficient he is at managing his household, and he is not going to blow it. In record time, he's got upstairs sealed off AND he's got a roaring fire going.)

[Sarah Jane sets the gathered bedding down in the living room]

We'll need candles if the power isn't back by nightfall.

Never fear signorina!

(And out comes out the candles that he went out to buy.)

I procured these candles in preparation for winter.

Oh good. I suppose you would be accustomed to this, wouldn't you?

[identity profile] bravabarber.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 05:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Well...not this cold, but I suppose if you mean that I'm used to spending my winter without, e-lek-tri-si-ti, then yes!

[identity profile] after-thesky.livejournal.com 2011-12-30 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes. Is there anything else you usually did for heat or light? I suppose we'll have to cook on the fire as well.

Well, in Seville a fireplace is usually sufficient enough. I know that the winters in Inglaterra are horrible, but in Espagna we're lucky enough to have milder winters.

I suppose...all we can do now is wear the appropriate clothing, keep the fire going strong, as well as eat and drink well. It's important to keep your spirits up, even in hard times.
